Four steps to a clean stick.

Clean the surface
Use rubbing alcohol and let it dry fully. Skip window cleaner, it leaves a film.

Position the decal
Peel off the paper backing. The vinyl stays on the clear transfer tape. Tape the top edge to hinge it into place.

Press it down
Use a credit card or squeegee. Start in the center and work outward to push air bubbles out.

Peel the transfer tape
Pull the transfer tape back on itself at a sharp angle. Slow and steady. Done.

Grit City Decals started the way most good things do, out of necessity and a little stubbornness. Based in Tacoma, WA, every decal is cut in house using premium vinyl built to last outdoors, on vehicles, and anywhere else you want to leave your mark. We are not a big box printer. We are a one person shop that cares about every order.
Meet Erica.
Grit City Decals is a one person operation out of Tacoma, WA. Every design starts in my garage, gets cut on the plotter, weeded by hand, and packed for the mail. No warehouse, no shortcuts.
I started making decals because I wanted something that actually represented where I am from. The Pacific Northwest and Tacoma, the 253, Grit City. It's a place that shapes you: mountains one direction, water the other, and a community that shows up.
If you spot a Grit City decal in the wild, snap a photo and tag us. Customer photos are the best part of this whole thing.

Grit City Decals is a one person shop out of Tacoma, WA (also known as Grit City). Every decal is designed, cut, weeded, and packed by Erica personally.
Most decals ship in a standard 4 to 5 inch size that fits laptops, tumblers, and rear car windows. Larger sizes (up to 12 inches) are available on request. Message us for exact dimensions and custom sizing.
Standard colors include black, white, red, blue, orange, and forest green. If you have a specific color in mind, ask, we usually have a match.
Premium outdoor grade vinyl. Weather resistant, UV resistant, and rated to last five plus years outdoors on cars, coolers, windows, and gear.
Clean the surface with rubbing alcohol, let it dry, then peel the paper backing and press the decal down using the transfer tape. Full step by step instructions ship with every order and live on the Pricing & Application page.
Orders ship within two to three business days from Tacoma, WA. Standard USPS delivery is typically three to five days across the U.S.
Yes. Custom is what we love. Send your idea, logo, quote, or sketch using the custom decal form and we will send back a quote within a day or two.
Because every decal is cut to order, we do not accept returns. If something arrives damaged or wrong, message us and we will make it right, no questions.
